Orphan Black star nominated for SAG Award
Tatiana Maslany, star of Orphan Black, has been nominated for a SAG Award for outstanding performance by a female actor in a drama series.
Recorded at Pinewood Toronto Studios, Orphan Black is currently in production for its third season. Fans and critics have praised Maslany’s performance as multiple clones in the show, but her SAG Award nomination is her second recognition by a major awards show, along with a nomination at the Golden Globes back in January.
Also nominated for this award is Claire Danes from "Homeland," Viola Davis from "How to Get Away With Murder," Julianna Margulies from "The Good Wife," Maggie Smith from "Downton Abbey" and Robin Wright from "House of Cards."
In a statement to the LA Times, Maslany said, "Thank you so much to the Screen Actors Guild for this incredible honor! I can't believe I'm in the company of such an amazing group of artists. It means so much to me and everyone on 'Orphan Black' to have this kind of support from our peers. Thank you!"
The SAG Awards will be handed out on Jan. 25, 2015.
