FOLEY ARTIST PETE BURGIS JOINS PINEWOOD POST PRODUCTION

Double Emmy Award Winning foley artist, Pete Burgis has joined Pinewood Post Production.

After 10 years of working with Glen Gathard, Pinewood’s Head of Recording and Editorial, to build an award winning, innovative and accomplished in-house foley and editorial service. Together with other freelance foley artists including Andrea King, Sue Harding, Jack Stew and Jason Swanscott, they have already worked on several major UK franchises including Bond, Sherlock Holmes and the Harry Potter films.

Glen Gathard, Head of Recording and Editorial, said:

Peter Burgis is a legendary British Foley Artist who has worked on over 150 titles including the Oscar winning The King’s Speech, Gosford Park and Slumdog Millionaire and others including, Band of Brothers, Atonement, Children of Men, Quantum of Solace, Captain Phillips and the Harry Potter films. He is also a double Emmy Award winner and a triple Golden Reel Award winner.

Pete’s recent credits include the soon to be released, Pan, Legend, Everest as well as The Man From U.N.C.L.E., Cinderella, The Game, Exodus: Gods and Kings and Edge of Tomorrow.

The foley team, with Pete’s experience working on over 150 titles, is now developing the next generation of foley artists with an in-house training programme.

Pinewood continues to invest in its foley and editorial services, recently renovating Theatre One and Theatre Two at Shepperton Studios, to complement UK sound teams in film, television, video games and audiobooks.

Foley is used to either complement or replace sound recorded on set with sound elements recorded in a more controlled environment. The skills of Pinewood’s foley team and of this art form were perfectly showcased in the short film ‘The Secret World of Foley’, which screened last year at the BFI London Film Festival.

Pinewood’s foley film credits include: Steve Jobs, Victor Frankenstein, Kill Your Friends, Everest, Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation, The Man from U.N.C.L.E., Legend, Take Down, Far From the Madding Crowd, and Ex Machina.

Video games credits include: Total War™: WARHAMMER®, Fable Legends, Total War: Atilla, and Alien: Isolation.
