Generous and bankable tax incentives

Toronto offers generous and bankable tax incentives – from two levels of government. Both the Ontario (provincial) and Canadian (federal) governments operate rich incentive programs for film and television production expenses.

All applicable tax credits are bankable with Canadian financial institutions and are managed swiftly and accurately so that you can have access to financing for your production while it’s in progress.

Generous and bankable tax incentives

Ontario services a 21.5% tax credit for eligible film and television productions. The federal government also offers an additional tax credit of 16% for service productions.

Domestic and Co-Productions

For domestic productions and co-productions, Ontario provides a 35% tax credit on eligible Ontario labour expenditures with an additional 10% regional bonus. The federal government also offers 25% (for domestic productions) on Canadian labour costs.

VFX and Animation

An additional 18% is provided for eligible labour on VFX and animation activities in Ontario including on-set labour costs for green-screen shooting.
