The Role of Security Guard

This role reports to a Security Supervisor and to the Facility Manager, but must be able to work independently and unsupervised to successfully and carefully complete defined tasks integral to the broader initiatives of a larger team.

The Security Guard works primarily from the Security Booths and roaming the lot, monitoring both indoor and outdoor spaces.  The successful candidate will be available to work various scheduled shifts, including occasional overnight, holiday and/or weekend shifts, as required.  The Security team is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of the film studio lot, 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, 365 days per year.  The Security Guard is the first point of contact for all clients and visitors entering the lot, and must therefore interact with clients and visitors in a professional and courteous manner, creating a positive first impression to those arriving at the gates. The goal is to assist the PTS management team in providing a first class experience to all PTS clients and visitors, while maintaining the secure perimeter of the lot and the safety and security of the people and facilities within the gates.

Please note this position is NOT production-related. The salary range for this role is $45,000.00 to $50,000.00, commensurate with experience, skills and relevant certification(s). PTS offers a competitive benefits package to eligible employees.

  • Ability to work shifts, including evenings and weekends, and some overtime hours, as required
  • Valid 1st aid/ AED-CPR license
  • Valid Ontario Security license
  • Valid G License an asset
Minimum Education

High School Diploma

Job-Related Experience

At least 2 years as a security guard or in a law enforcement role.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Site access control
  • Property patrol
  • Monitor site conditions and activities
  • Operation of applicable software and hardware (CCTV, Access Control and Building Automation)
  • Respond to requests from management, various departments, and clients, in a timely manner
  • Onsite emergency response
  • Completing shift reports at the end of each shift

  • The salary range for this role is $45,000.00 to $50,000.00, commensurate with experience, skills and relevant certification(s).
