Role summary
The Security Operations Centre (SOC) Specialist will play a first point of contact role to provide incident response management whilst delivering excellent security services as part of the safety and protection of Pinewood Group Studios, its staff, customers and business visitors. Working as part of a team of SOC Specialists , the incumbent will ensure that the Security Operations Centre service is professional and effective by undertaking tasks such as monitoring and responding to live security feeds, safety, building and fire responses, coordinating the Studios response to incidents and alarm activations, and maintaining the Studios Security Operations Centre technology. Whilst this role is predominantly based at Pinewood Studios, there will be the requirement to also work occasionally at Shepperton Studios.
This role is for a night shift worker, working 12 hour days, 4 days on 4 days off.
Principle accountabilities
- Acting as the senior Pinewood representative for out of hours escalation of all occurrences and incidents across Pinewood sites
- Responding to incidents and maintaining a secure and safe environment for staff, customers, contractors and business visitors.
- Take appropriate action to prevent, minimise or resolve these issues through priority tasking.
- Coordinate and support all studio response process, including alarm activation and evacuation procedures.
- Proactively monitoring the Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) system to ensure that security is maintained in accordance with SOP’s
- Escalating & reporting security breaches, failures of procedures and unusual incidents to the SOC Supervisor &/or Head of Security whilst maintaining the security logs to the required high standards.
- Control radio channels and act as the focal point for all security related communications.
- Provide effective support to Studio Emergency, Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Plans when activated.
- Support studio staff and contractors, for example by managing safe and secure access into controlled areas.
- Continually monitor and audit all systems to ensure, for example, faults are identified and resolved quickly. Identifying and improving operational delivery with strong attention to detail
- Carry out investigations into incidents across the Pinewood Studios Group.
Nature and Scope
Responsible for the daily operation of the Security Operations Centre ensuring the service is professional, proactive and technology is fully utilised. You will prioritise tasks and proactively utilising all security operations centre technology, protecting the Studio, and providing clear support and direction to manned guarding security teams. This will involve monitoring the security systems in place over multiple sites, including CCTV; AACS and Intruder alert systems. Will also be responsible for monitoring Life safety systems including Fire alert technology. Required to make operational decisions and initial management of emergency situations, all aimed at providing a safe, secure and fulfilling environment for the studios, staff, customers and business visitors.
Skills and experience
Essential criteria
- Ability to communicate clearly, explaining questions or requirements and responding to customers, colleagues, and contractors.
- Customer focused security operations and strong communication skills essential.
- High level knowledge of relevant equipment and systems. IT proficient with a working knowledge of Word, Office and Excel.
- Ability to give clear instructions to and provide general support and strong record keeping and report writing,
- Able to plan and prioritise work dynamically whilst using problem solving skills
- Clear verbal and written communicator.
- Calm approach to managing and prioritise multiple demands based on risk management.
Desirable criteria
- Level 3 and above security or business continuity qualifications
- Level 2 CCTV
- The ideal candidate will have Security Operations Centre experience,
- An understanding security system design and BS 7958:2015 British Standards
