The long-awaited Academy Awards nominations have been announced, with nine of the nominated films having worked with Studios over the course of their production.
Alfonso Cuarón’s Roma scooped up ten nominations in total including Best Director, Best Picture and Best Actress for Yalitza Aparicio, the first indigenous woman nominated for an Academy Award. The film is also nominated for Academy Awards in Sound Editing and Sound Mixing – the Pinewood Creative Audio team were delighted to have supported the production.
Five nominations, including Best Picture and Best Sound, went to Bohemian Rhapsody, for which Pinewood also facilitated Foley, with lighting provided by Pinewood MBS.
Other nominated productions which shot at the Studios are Mary Poppins Returns, nominated across four categories and three for Mary Queen of Scots, which was also supported by Pinewood Digital and Pinewood Creative Audio. If Beale Street Could Talk is also up for three awards, with location and production services provided by Pinewood Dominican Republic.
Congratulations also go to Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, Avengers: Infinity War, Christopher Robin and SOLO: A Star Wars Story which all received one nomination each.

The 91st Academy Awards will take place on 24 February at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles (1:00 am GMT, 17:00 PT).
