Congratulations to the 2025 BAFTA Nominees

BAFTA today announced the nominations for the 2025 EE BAFTA Film Awards, celebrating the very best in film over the past year. A total of 42 films received nominations today.

Congratulations to all of the nominees and especially the productions associated with our Studios, including:

  • The Apprentice, based at Pinewood Toronto Studios – Three nominations, Leading Actor: Sebastian Stan, Supporting Actor: Jeremy Strong, Casting
  • Gladiator II, scenes shot at Shepperton Studios  – Three nominations,  Outstanding British Film, Sound, Special Visual Effects

British actor, comedian, presenter and producer Warwick Davis will be awarded the BAFTA Fellowship – the arts charity’s most prestigious honour that recognises those who have made an outstanding and exceptional contribution to film, games or television.

Warwick is celebrated for his roles in several of the world’s most successful and enduring film franchises and television shows. His credits include Star Wars: The Force Awakens (2015), Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (2016), Star Wars: The Last Jedi (2017), Solo: A Star Wars Story (2018), Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker (2019), Maleficent: Mistress of Evil (2019) and the TV series Willow (2022) which all shot at Pinewood Studios. Since 2016, he has hosted the game show Tenable which is recorded at Pinewood TV.

David Tennant will return as host of the EE BAFTA Film Awards 2025

2024 EE Rising Star winner Mia-McKenna Bruce and BAFTA-winner Will Sharpe announced the nominations via a live broadcast from BAFTA 195 Piccadilly in London.

The nominees for the EE Rising Star Award were announced on 7 January as Marisa Abela, Jharrel Jerome, David Jonsson, Mikey Madison and Nabhaan Rizwan . It is the only award voted for by the British public and it is presented annually to a performer who has demonstrated exceptional talent early in their careers.  Voting is now open at ee.co.uk/bafta.

The EE BAFTA Film Awards ceremony will once again be held at the Southbank Centre’s Royal Festival Hall in central London, and broadcast on Sunday 16 February 2025 on BBC One and iPlayer in the UK, stream on BritBox International in North America, and be available on BritBox on demand in the Nordics and Australia.

Hosted by David Tennant the ceremony will offer audiences an unmissable night of entertainment, celebrating the year’s best films and the creative talent that bring them to life.
