INTO FILM LAUNCHES UK FILMMAKING FUND FOR YOUNG PEOPLE – ‘EVERY CHILD A FILMMAKER’

PINEWOOD JOINS INDUSTRY HEAVYWEIGHTS TO ANNOUNCE THEIR SUPPORT FOR THE FUNDRAISNG INITIATIVE

Film education charity, Into Film, last night launched a new fundraising campaign to fund a UK filmmaking initiative, Every Child a Filmmaker. The fund, conceived as part of Into Film’s 10th anniversary celebrations, will enable under-served children and young people to work closely with professionals to learn the creative and technical filmmaking skills they need to tell their stories, bringing new perspectives and unheard voices to the screen.

Kick-starting the campaign, Amazon MGM Studios, EON Productions and Swatch have come on board as Main Partners pledging £210,000 between them to ignite this worthwhile initiative and invest in the filmmaking fund. In addition, 5 Programme Partners have confirmed their support – IMDb, the Wiggin Charitable Foundation, Pinewood and Shepperton Studios, Greg Williams Photography and Eric Fellner as part of the 10 for £10,000 fundraising campaign to mark Into Film’s 10th birthday year.

“Amazon MGM Studios are delighted to support this initiative. As a company that is passionate about bringing unique and fresh stories to the screen, we are very excited to see the films that are made as part of this project. It’s important that young people get opportunities like this to help them build valuable skills needed to succeed in life”.

“Into Film’s Every Child A Filmmaker campaign is a wonderfully designed programme to encourage all young people, literally every child in the UK, to express themselves and tell their stories through the powerful medium of film.”

Producer/CEO, EON Productions

The ECAF Fund will be awarded to young people and youth groups across the UK via a range of specialist partners, enabling them to gain short film production expertise and at the same time build valuable life skills to support their futures.

Every Child a Filmmaker is a manifesto and commitment to give the opportunity to bring their ideas to life through film, a familiar medium that they have grown up with and engage with every day.

Into Film wants to bring the screen industries, educators and parents on this journey so that all children and young people, regardless of where they live, their backgrounds or the challenges they face in their lives, have the opportunity to tell their story through film.
