| On Saturday 22nd September, Pinewood Studios, in conjunction with Buckinghamshire Thames Valley Local Enterprise Partnership (BTV LEP) hosted the first ever ‘Open Doors: Pathways to the Creative Industries’ event at Pinewood Studios.
The day was attended by 610 visitors and was a rare opportunity for them to visit work spaces on the lot, watch demos, experiment with equipment, attend Q&As and gain advice from industry professionals. The event included Q&A sessions with industry professionals held in the John Barry Theatre; companies based at Pinewood opening their doors for demos, talks and careers advice and a host of exhibitors and training providers based in TV One including NFTS, Creative Skillset and the BFI, plus two OB trucks parked outside. The feedback from both attendees and exhibitors was that the day was a massive success. Some came with a career choice in mind, others weren’t sure, but all left thinking differently after chatting to various industry professionals. Many made contacts, joined training courses and left thankful for the opportunities presented to them on the day. |
