Pinewood featured prominently at this year’s Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), hosting and supporting a number of high profile events.
Key events included the Taika Waitiki Masterclass. This prolific director, writer, actor, and comedian’s work first came into the spotlight with his Oscar-nominated short Two Cars, One Night. Now part of Marvel Cinematic Universe, he directed Thor: Ragnarok in 2017 bringing his independent spirit and self-deprecating Kiwi wit. Moderated by TIFF’s Artistic Director, Cameron Bailey, Taika generously shared his life in front of and behind the camera. Pinewood were proud to be associated and to have worked with several films screened at the Festival including: Roma – foley and sound mix facilitated at Pinewood. Pinewood Toronto also supported the XOTO Lounge hosted by the City of Toronto, the Canadian Film Centre BBQ as well as the annual Women in Film & TV Toronto TIFF Gala. |
