Channel 4’s Alternative Election Night will be broadcast live from Pinewood TV Studios this Thursday 8th June from 21:00 – 06:00. Produced by Zeppotron, Jeremy Paxman, David Mitchell and Richard Osman are hosting and the show will also feature Channel 4 News presenters Cathy Newman and Gary Gibbon reporting on the results.
The Pinewood TV team has spent the past 4 weeks setting up for election night and will take in 15 satellite downlinks from constituencies around the UK, providing a constant graphics stream of voting information as it happens. The studio will connect with ITN for news broadcasts and will accommodate political and entertainment guests on the studio floor as well as an audience of 400 throughout the night.
Pinewood hosted the 2015 Alternative Election Night which was the most watched election night coverage on commercial TV, achieving a peak audience of 2.4million at 10pm, as polls closed.
