Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee

This weekend we congratulate HM Queen Elizabeth II on her Platinum Jubilee, a celebration of 70 years on the throne. Her Majesty is the longest-reigning British monarch.

To commemorate the occasion at Pinewood Studios the Union and Platinum Jubilee flags were raised on the flagpoles outside the original gatehouse, by the 1st Iver Heath Beaver group. The group were accompanied by their leaders Owen Mann (Woodpecker), Kelly Gabb (Swan), Neil Walters (Badger) and young leader Molly Jardella (Falcon).

We are also flying the Jubilee flag at Littleton House, Shepperton Studios and are supporting local events taking place in Iver Heath, Spelthorne, Laleham and Staines.

Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II has visited both Pinewood Studios in Buckinghamshire (2007) and our sister Studio in Toronto (2010).

In 2007 the visit to Pinewood Studios was in celebration of the opening of the new gate and included a tour of the world-famous 007 Sound Stage, the Underwater Stage, the TV Studios and Her Majesty signed our Pinewood Studios Visitors’ book.

On 5th July 2010 HM visited Pinewood Toronto Studios and watched a version of 1812 in 3D wearing a pair of bespoke 3D glasses. Queen Elizabeth received a Director’s chair and met with performers and staff.

In 2021 Pinewood Group planted trees for the Queen’s Green Canopy at Pinewood and Shepperton in celebration of the Jubilee. The ceremonies were attended by children from local schools and the Lord-Lieutenants for Buckinghamshire and Surrey.
