The Secret World of Foley won the award for Best Sound Design at last night’s Music and Sound Awards. Sound Design for the film was completed by Pinewood Post Production.
The Awards ceremony took place last night at Café De Paris, recognising and celebrating the indispensable role and outstanding contribution that music and sound design play in the world of visual media. Aimed at professionals working in advertising, film, television (branding and programming) and gaming. The Secret World of Foley follows a multi-award winning two person team of Foley Artists, who have over 200 major feature film credits between them, Pete Burgis (Double Emmy Award Winner) and Sue Harding (Emmy Award Winner), at Shepperton Studios’ Theatre 2. Working together with multi-award winning Foley Supervisor Glen Gathard, in Pinewood’s legendary sound mixing theatres and Foley rooms, they bring to life a film about one morning in the life of a fishing village on the English coast. Alien: Isolation also won at last night’s awards, a thrilling survival horror video game which captures the horror and tension evoked by Ridley Scott’s brooding sci-fi classic that was originally shot at Shepperton Studios in 1979. Winning the award for Best Sound Design: Gaming, Alien: Isolation’s Foley and Sound Editorial work was completed by Glen Gathard based at Shepperton Studios in Theatre 2. The Theory of Everything, which was also mixed and had foley work completed by Pinewood Post Production, scooped up the award for Best Original Composition: Trailers and Promos. Gravity, shot at Shepperton Studios, won the Factory Studios Award for Best Sound Design: Feature Film, by Glenn Fremantle at Sound24 based at Pinewood Studios. The Riot Club, a Pinewood Pictures film, also won for Best Sync/Use of Existing Music: Feature Film award. |
